As Lubbock wedding caterers, we have the privilege of working with a wide variety of local vendors whom we love and respect! And occasionally, we like to highlight the ones who really stand out.
So today, we’re toasting English Newsom Cellars with a little Q&A from Jessica, our owner at Heart & Soul.
Q: Tell us about your relationship with English Newsom.
A: Our relationship with English Newsom began in 2018 and grew into an exclusive partnership in 2019 with all things related to their Wine Club. (The Wine Club is a quarterly dinner where members enjoy delicious English Newsom wines paired with our delectable Heart & Soul dishes!)
When the pandemic hit in 2020, our relationship really bloomed, and we were able to support each other on a whole new level. The Wine Club has grown in numbers and so has the interest in West Texas wine – not just locally but across the state.
Q: What makes English Newsom stand out?
A: English Newsom is a farm-to-table wine experience, which means they produce their own wine on their own premises with their own grapes – right here in West Texas. There are very few wineries in Texas, much less the world, that can say that.
From the architecture to the staff behind the tasting room bar, everything embodies what West Texas is all about. I am so thankful to be a part of it.
Q: Why should someone choose them for an event venue?
A: Not only is the winery one of the most beautiful locations in the Lubbock area, but it’s also very accommodating to events of all sizes. Weddings at English Newsom are beautiful – from ceremonies in the vineyard to beautiful receptions in the barrel room – and corporate events are also perfect for this location. You can have your meetings while experiencing a little fun and culture, too!
Q: Anything else you’d like to say about English Newsom?
A: They’re like family. I know I’ve mentioned 2020 already, but these people have truly become my family in the past couple of years. They have stuck by Heart & Soul through the good and bad times.
I know their warmth was not just saved for other vendors or me; it was for every person that stepped through their doors, from guests to delivery guys. They want their passion for wine and West Texas to be something they share with every soul they come in contact with.
